Introduction: Kyneton and District offers a pre-school, five Primary Schools, two Secondary Schools and Adult Education via TAFE and the Community and Learning Centre.
Pre-School
Lady Brooks Kindergarten

The Lady Brooks Kindergarten offers pre-school education for children of both 4-5 year and 3-4 years.
The educational program for 4-5 year olds addresses physical, social, emotional, cognitive and language development. Kindergarten sessions are delivered by a qualified teacher and assistant plus parent helpers.
Pre-kinder provides a developmentally appropriate program for children with a minimum age of 3 years by 30 April of the year they attend. The program addresses the key developmental areas of children of this age range with emphasis on social development through play experience.

School Statement: Kyneton Secondary College is a secular co-educational government school offering a comprehensive curriculum from Year 7 to Year 12. The curriculum encompasses VET, VCAL and VCE as well as a broad range of co-curricula activities such as sport, music and theatre. The school is divided into 2 sub-schools- Middle Years (7-9) and Senior Years (10-12). In Years 7 & 8 students are aided in their transition to secondary education via a Home Group system where students work with a small team of teachers each of whom provides academic instruction across at least 2 subjects as well as welfare support. In Year 9 students are exposed to a wide range of elective subjects that build on the comprehensive broad based experiences of Years 7 & 8. Tertiary Education:
Whilst there are no tertiary campuses in Kyneton a great number of young people from the district progress to tertiary study. Some live in Melbourne but many continue to live at home and travel each day, some by road, but many by train where frequent services and student discount fares make daily travel to Tertiary Institutions in the City or this side of it and also to Bendigo a viable proposition. Both Secondary Colleges have extensive course and career counselling to assist students in the course selection process.
